Free trials convert because the end date is invisible. Make it visible, get a reminder before it charges, and decide in time.
Free trials are designed around one fact: most people forget. The trial starts with a single tap, the card is already on file, and the conversion date arrives quietly. The fix is not willpower — it is a reminder that fires before the trial ends, with enough time left to decide.
Watch for these: trials that convert to an annual plan (one charge for a full year), "introductory" prices that jump after 3 months, and trials started inside an app that are billed by Apple — those are only cancellable in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
You can do this with the iPhone's own tools: after starting a trial, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, note the end date, and add a calendar event two days earlier. It works if you remember to do it every time. A tracker just makes it the default.
Mark a free trial, see its countdown on your Lock Screen, and get reminded before it turns into a charge.
Get Recurra freeAdd the trial to a tracker like Recurra with its end date, or create a calendar event a couple of days before the date shown in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
For trials billed through Apple you usually keep access until the trial would have ended. Some services end access immediately when you cancel — check the service's terms.
Settings → your name → Subscriptions lists trials billed through Apple, with the date they convert. Trials started on a website are not listed there.
