How Recurra compares

Comparison pages written by the company selling you something are usually worthless, because the answer is always "us". These are written so that each one tells you when to buy the other app instead — because if you pick the wrong tool you will just cancel in a month anyway.

vs Rocket Money →

The bank-connected heavyweight. Finds subscriptions automatically and will cancel and negotiate for you — for a cut of the savings.

vs Bobby →

The closest comparison. Also manual, also private, and a one-time purchase. Genuinely the better buy for some people.

vs Copilot Money →

A complete budgeting platform rather than a subscription tool. Different category, and better than us at being one.

The one question underneath all of them

Nearly every difference in the category comes down to a single fork: does the app connect to your bank or not?

Apps that do — Rocket Money, Copilot — can find charges you have forgotten, update prices automatically, and see spending you never told them about. That is real value, and it costs you a permanent data relationship with the app and the aggregator sitting behind it.

Apps that do not — Recurra, Bobby — cannot surprise you with a subscription you did not know about. You tell them the list once. In exchange, nothing about your finances leaves your device.

Neither answer is correct in general. But it decides which half of the category you should be shopping in, so it is worth settling before you compare features. We went deeper on that trade-off here.

Where Recurra actually sits

Recurra is a manual, on-device subscription tracker with an AI advisor on top. It does not detect subscriptions from your bank, it does not budget, and it cannot cancel anything on your behalf. What it does is keep an accurate list, warn you before every renewal, log every price increase, and give each subscription a verdict — keep, cancel, downgrade, or watch — generated on your iPhone rather than on a server.

If that is the shape of your problem, it fits well. If it is not, one of the pages above will tell you so.

See it for yourself

The free tier tracks your subscriptions and reminds you before every renewal. No account, no bank connection.
