There are two possible routes, and using the wrong one is why people cancel PlayStation Plus and still get charged. Check which applies to you first.
This is the step people skip. PlayStation Plus can be billed either by Apple (if you subscribed inside an iPhone or iPad app) or by PlayStation Plus directly (if you signed up on their website). Only the biller can cancel it.
To check: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. If PlayStation Plus appears there, Apple bills you — use route A. If it does not, use route B.

Worth knowing: ⚠️ Cloud saves are a Plus benefit. When it lapses, existing cloud saves are retained for a period but you cannot upload new ones — copy saves to a USB drive or local storage before it ends. Monthly Games also stop launching.
Online multiplayer stops for most games, Monthly Games become unplayable, and cloud save uploads stop. Games you bought outright are unaffected.
Always confirm it worked. Look for a cancellation email, and re-open the billing page to check the status reads cancelled or "ends on [date]". Then set a calendar reminder for the day after the period ends and check your card statement. A surprising number of cancellations do not take on the first attempt.
Most services have a cheaper tier that people never look at, and several offer a pause instead of a cancellation. If you use PlayStation Plus occasionally rather than never, a lower plan or a temporary pause usually beats cancelling and resubscribing at a higher price later.
Recurra keeps your remaining subscriptions in one place and reminds you before each renewal — so the next one does not catch you out. No bank login, no account.
