There are two possible routes, and using the wrong one is why people cancel Xbox Game Pass and still get charged. Check which applies to you first.
This is the step people skip. Xbox Game Pass can be billed either by Apple (if you subscribed inside an iPhone or iPad app) or by Xbox Game Pass directly (if you signed up on their website). Only the biller can cancel it.
To check: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. If Xbox Game Pass appears there, Apple bills you — use route A. If it does not, use route B.
Go straight to the Xbox Game Pass cancellation page →
Worth knowing: ⚠️ Microsoft stacks prepaid time, so if you redeemed codes you may have months banked beyond the current period — the Services page shows the true end date. Turning off recurring billing is safer than cancelling if you have prepaid time you want to use.
Games installed through Game Pass stop launching when the period ends. Save files stay in the cloud, and any game you bought at the member discount remains yours.
Always confirm it worked. Look for a cancellation email, and re-open the billing page to check the status reads cancelled or "ends on [date]". Then set a calendar reminder for the day after the period ends and check your card statement. A surprising number of cancellations do not take on the first attempt.
Most services have a cheaper tier that people never look at, and several offer a pause instead of a cancellation. If you use Xbox Game Pass occasionally rather than never, a lower plan or a temporary pause usually beats cancelling and resubscribing at a higher price later.
Recurra keeps your remaining subscriptions in one place and reminds you before each renewal — so the next one does not catch you out. No bank login, no account.
