There are two possible routes, and using the wrong one is why people cancel Max and still get charged. Check which applies to you first.
This is the step people skip. Max can be billed either by Apple (if you subscribed inside an iPhone or iPad app) or by Max directly (if you signed up on their website). Only the biller can cancel it.
To check: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. If Max appears there, Apple bills you — use route A. If it does not, use route B.
Go straight to the Max cancellation page →
Worth knowing: Max is very often billed through a third party — Amazon Channels, Roku, YouTube TV, or a cable provider. If the account page says your subscription is managed elsewhere, you must cancel it there. This is the most common reason people think they cancelled and keep getting charged.
You keep access until the billing period ends, then the account reverts to a free shell you can resubscribe into.
Always confirm it worked. Look for a cancellation email, and re-open the billing page to check the status reads cancelled or "ends on [date]". Then set a calendar reminder for the day after the period ends and check your card statement. A surprising number of cancellations do not take on the first attempt.
Most services have a cheaper tier that people never look at, and several offer a pause instead of a cancellation. If you use Max occasionally rather than never, a lower plan or a temporary pause usually beats cancelling and resubscribing at a higher price later.
Recurra keeps your remaining subscriptions in one place and reminds you before each renewal — so the next one does not catch you out. No bank login, no account.
